An accessible entrance upgrade for a local church

A new automatic swing door system designed for accessibility and climate control.

A church in the South East wanted to upgrade its entrance to better accommodate parishioners and meet modern accessibility standards. Their existing doors were outdated and didn’t provide the ease of entry required for those with mobility needs. Entec designed, fabricated, and installed a new double swing door entrance package, integrating automation to improve accessibility while maintaining the building’s climate control.

What we did

The church required an entrance solution that balanced accessibility with practicality. Entec installed a double swing door system with side screens to fill the space left by the previous entrance, ensuring a seamless and functional upgrade. Push pad activation was added for ease of use, ensuring compliance with accessibility requirements while maintaining an elegant aesthetic.

Designing an entrance that provided the clear opening space required for an emergency escape scenario, whilst maintaining the climate control of the space during automated accessibility entry and exit.

Entec fabricated a double door entrance package to achieve sufficient opening width in an emergency evacuation situation. Choosing to only automate one of the door leaves reduced the opening area of the entrance during normal operation while still providing the accommodation needed to meet accessibility requirements—helping to maintain climate control within the space.
